Boyle County is located in central Kentucky, about an hour south of Lexington. The county was named after John Boyle, a former Kentucky chief justice.
Around 30,000 residents live here, with Danville serving as the county seat. Centre College, a private liberal arts college, is located in Danville and adds an academic presence to the community. U.S. Route 127 provides easy access through the area.
Boyle County has an important Civil War history, making the Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site worth a visit. In Danville, Constitution Square marks the place where Kentucky’s first constitution was drafted.
