Jackson County is located in southern Indiana. Seymour, the county seat, is known as the hometown of rocker John Mellencamp.
The county is home to Starve Hollow State Recreation Area, featuring a lake and 280 acres of wooded forest. The Medora Covered Bridge is another local landmark and one of the longest covered bridges of its kind in the country.
