Owen County sits in the south-central part of the state. Spencer is the county seat and is located along the White River.
McCormick’s Creek State Park, Indiana’s oldest state park, is just outside Spencer. This makes it a popular spot for hiking, camping, and enjoying nature.
If you come here, we suggest tubing down the White River or visiting Cataract Falls, Indiana’s largest waterfall. No other county in Indiana quite captures the essence of rural Hoosier life like Owen County.
