Hamblen County sits in northeastern Tennessee and is one of the state’s smallest counties by size. Morristown serves as both the county seat and the largest city, giving the area a mix of small-town character and urban energy.
Cherokee Lake borders the western side of the county, offering plenty of opportunities for boating, fishing, and enjoying the water. Hamblen County has a nice balance of developed areas and rural countryside. Manufacturing is a major part of the local economy, but there’s much more to the community than its industrial side.
The county’s history reaches back to the 1700s, and reminders of those early days can still be found around the area. Appalachian heritage remains an important part of local culture, showing up in everything from food and music to community festivals. Hamblen County may be small, but it has plenty of character and a few surprises along the way.
