Menifee County, Kentucky
In the foothills of eastern Kentucky, Menifee County is a small, peaceful place where nature takes center stage. It’s also one of the smaller counties in the state.
Frenchburg serves as the county seat and is located within Daniel Boone National Forest. If you’re looking for a scenic drive, Kentucky Route 36 and 1274 wind through the county, offering beautiful views of the Kentucky landscape.
The county’s biggest attraction, however, is the Red River Gorge in the southern section. This canyon system lies along the Red River and is geologically part of the Pottsville Escarpment. Rock climbers travel from all over to scale its cliffs.
