Vermilion County, Illinois
Vermilion County sits on the eastern edge of Illinois, right along the Indiana border. Danville, the county seat, has plenty of grit. The landscape here is a mix of prairie and woodland.
The Vermilion River cuts through the county, creating some pretty scenic spots. Abraham Lincoln practiced law in Danville for about 18 years before he went on to bigger things.
