Warren County is a small patch of prairie tucked away in western Illinois. The area features a mix of gently rolling farmland and flat prairie, typical of the state’s western region.
Monmouth, the county seat, is home to a small liberal arts college that punches above its weight. The whole county is about an hour from the Quad Cities.
Warren County has some quirky claims to fame. Wyatt Earp was born here, and you can still visit his birthplace. The county is named for Joseph Warren, who was killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775.
