Hall County is located in the Texas Panhandle, just east of Amarillo and close to the Oklahoma border. Memphis, the county seat, is situated in the northeastern part of the county and serves as an important local center for the surrounding rural communities.
The county was named after Warren Hall, a soldier who played a role in the Texas Revolution. Agriculture remains a major part of life here, with extensive cotton fields covering much of the landscape. The Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River flows through the county, adding distinctive scenery and natural beauty to the wide-open plains.
Hall County offers a peaceful rural setting where residents enjoy fishing along its waterways and taking in the expansive night skies. Clear evenings are ideal for stargazing, while the region’s colorful sunsets provide a memorable view.
