Harrison County, Indiana
Harrison County hugs the Ohio River in southern Indiana, just across from Louisville, Kentucky. Corydon, the county seat, was Indiana’s first state capital and still retains much of its historic character.
The county features plenty of caves and sinkholes, which are an important part of its natural landscape. O’Bannon Woods State Park is a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. The county is also home to Squire Boone Caverns, named after Daniel Boone’s brother.
The Battle of Corydon reenactment attracts history enthusiasts every July. Caesars Southern Indiana also draws tourists and contributes to the local economy through tourism and tax revenue. With its combination of history, caves, and entertainment, Harrison County offers plenty to explore.
