Hutchinson County sits in the Texas Panhandle, with Borger as its largest town and Stinnett serving as the county seat. Oil and gas have long been important parts of the local economy.
The Canadian River runs through the southern part of the county, close to Lake Meredith National Recreation Area. Wind is a constant feature here, while summers can be scorching and winters bring plenty of cold.
The area has a fascinating history, including the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument. With its wide-open landscape and endless horizons, Hutchinson County is one of those places where the Texas sky seems to feel even bigger.
