Leslie County, Kentucky
Leslie County is located in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky. Hyden serves as the county seat and is about as small-town as it gets.
Much of the county is part of the Daniel Boone National Forest. The area is great for hiking if you don’t mind tackling a few hills.
There’s also a cool little museum that highlights the area’s coal mining history. The Redbird Crest Trail is popular with hikers and ATV riders who want to explore the rugged terrain. Leslie County is the kind of place where the mountains feel like home and nature is always just a step away.
