Pottawatomie County is located in northeast Kansas, with Westmoreland serving as the county seat. The area features a mix of rolling hills and farmland.
The county is close enough to Manhattan (the Little Apple, not the Big Apple) for some residents to commute to Kansas State University. Just to be clear, Manhattan is in the southwestern part of the county.
Wamego, one of the larger towns, is home to the popular Oz Museum. U.S. Highway 24 runs through the county and serves as the main highway. Tuttle Creek Lake is also nearby, offering great opportunities for fishing and boating.
