Walker County lies in the Piney Woods of East Texas, about an hour north of Houston. It’s a beautiful area filled with forests, lakes, and state parks. Outdoor enthusiasts have plenty to explore, especially with the Sam Houston National Forest covering much of the county’s southeast corner.
