Hudspeth County stretches along the U.S.-Mexico border in far West Texas. It covers more than 4,500 square miles, yet only around 3,000 people live across this vast, remote area.
Sierra Blanca serves as the county seat. The landscape is dominated by desert terrain and rugged mountains, with part of Guadalupe Mountains National Park located within the county. Ranching remains an important part of the local economy.
Wildlife such as roadrunners and javelinas can be spotted throughout the area. The night skies are spectacular, with countless stars visible across the open desert. Winters can be surprisingly chilly, but the remote scenery gives Hudspeth County that unmistakable far-out West Texas feel.
