Ottawa County is located in north-central Kansas, with Minneapolis serving as the county seat (not to be confused with the one in Minnesota).
The county is home to some interesting rock formations known as the Mushroom Rocks… because who wouldn’t want to see giant fungi in the middle of Kansas?
Fishing and hunting are popular activities in the area, while farming remains a major part of life, especially wheat and cattle production. The Solomon River adds some nice scenery. With a population of just over 5,700, it’s the kind of place where everyone waves hello.
