Lincoln County sits in south-central Idaho. It’s small and rural, and as you might expect, the county is named after Abraham Lincoln. Shoshone serves as the county seat and is a quiet little town with a laid-back feel.

The Snake River Plain stretches across much of the county, creating mostly flat farmland. Irrigation changed everything here, turning dry land into productive fields where potatoes, sugar beets, and other crops can thrive.

The Sawtooth National Forest comes close to the county’s northern edge, offering a nice escape from all that farmland. You’ll also see plenty of old barns around Lincoln County, some still in use and others slowly falling apart. It’s not exactly a tourist hotspot, and honestly, it may never be—but that’s part of its quiet, rural charm.
