Union Parish, Louisiana
Union Parish is located in northern Louisiana, right along the Arkansas border. It’s a place where time seems to slow down a bit. Farmerville, the parish seat, is a quiet town with a population you could probably fit inside a high school gym.
But don’t let the small size fool you. There’s plenty to do here if you know where to look. Lake D’Arbonne is a fisherman’s paradise, with bass and crappie just waiting to be caught.
The parish has deep agricultural roots, with fields of cotton spread throughout the area. The food is simple but good, with favorites like fried catfish and homemade pies. I’ve never been a catfish fan, but if you are… this is the place to be.
