James City County, Virginia
James City County is steeped in American history and forms part of Virginia’s Historic Triangle alongside Williamsburg and Yorktown. Jamestown, established in 1607, was the first permanent English settlement in North America and remains one of the county’s most important historic landmarks.
Located just west of Williamsburg in southeastern Virginia, James City County has grown far beyond its historic roots. It is now one of the fastest-growing counties in the state, supported by a diverse economy that includes tourism, manufacturing, technology, and other industries.
