Lunenburg County is tucked away in the heart of Southside Virginia, with a small population of just over 12,000 residents. Kenbridge and Victoria are the county’s main communities, each offering a relaxed small-town atmosphere.

Tobacco farming once dominated the local economy, and old tobacco curing barns can still be spotted throughout the countryside. Today, forestry has become much more important, with expansive pine plantations covering large stretches of the landscape.

The county is known for its welcoming, down-to-earth residents and peaceful rural setting. The Nottoway River forms the northern boundary, while the Meherrin River runs along the southern edge. During warm summer weekends, canoes and kayaks can often be seen drifting along the waterways.
