Price County sits deep in Wisconsin’s Northwoods, where thick forests seem to stretch endlessly in every direction. Logging has played a major role in the county’s history and remains part of the local economy today. A large portion of the area is covered by the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, offering plenty of room for outdoor adventures.

Phillips, the county seat, is a small community with plenty of local charm. Fishing is a major attraction, with hundreds of lakes providing countless spots to cast a line. Winters bring heavy snowfall, creating ideal conditions for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and other cold-weather activities.

Price County is also known for its maple syrup production, especially when spring arrives. Hunters travel to the area during deer season, filling the woods with activity. Most of the year, though, it’s a peaceful place where seeing wildlife can sometimes be easier than spotting another person.
