Calhoun County, Arkansas
Calhoun County is one of the most rural areas in Arkansas. Hampton, the small county seat, has fewer than 1,500 residents. Calhoun County is also the least populous county in the state.
Although the county has a small population, much of the area is covered by forests. These natural areas provide opportunities for hiking, camping, and hunting, especially during deer season.
Moro Bay State Park is located in the southeastern part of the county and offers opportunities to explore forests and waterways. For a glimpse of local history and culture, visitors can also explore the historic courthouse in Hampton.
