Marion County, Arkansas
Marion County is located in north-central Arkansas and is known for its natural beauty. The Buffalo National River, America’s first national river, is one of the county’s major highlights.
The Buffalo National River runs through the southeastern part of the county and offers excellent opportunities for floating and hiking. Bull Shoals Lake, known for its clear waters and outstanding fishing, covers much of the northern part of the area.
Yellville serves as the county seat and hosts the annual Turkey Trot festival. The controversial turkey drop has been discontinued. The Rush Historic District is another notable attraction, preserving a former mining community from Arkansas’s zinc mining era.
