Poweshiek County is located in east-central Iowa and is named after a Meskwaki chief. Montezuma serves as the county seat and is situated in the southern part of the county.
Grinnell is home to the prestigious Grinnell College, giving this largely rural county an intellectual flair. The college’s Bucksbaum Center for the Arts hosts world-class performances.
